Value in community & consistency when testing

What’s up y’all? Cici here.

Welcome back to More Her Speed, a weekly no-BS newsletter all about women in coaching.

COMMUNITY is everything

This weekend we had the pleasure of having some of our affiliated Speed Lab facility owners out to California to connect with the team and have them sit in on some training.

This was such a great experience for us to be together and share ideas as well as pain points.

A big thing that I realized is that no one thinks they’re doing as good as they are..

Being able to see the work put in behind the scenes is where the value comes from.

Our team is only successful because of the sacrifices we’ve all been through and the systems we put in place.

We’ve all been doing this long enough to know failure.

We know what it looks like, we know what it feels like.

We built systems off of those failures and off of that pain.

One thing’s for certain and two thing’s for sure, we always have a plan B, C, and D when things go wrong.

That’s not to say we don’t still fail, we just don’t let the losses define us or hinder our training.

We build a system so that the next time we do something, we probably won’t take the same L twice.

We’re here to put others on and share our experiences and grow together and that’s exactly what we did- plus some good laughs and good food.

Consistency in Assessment

For anyone that isn’t familiar with our system or our partners - Speed Labs are USR Powered facilities across the US that use our data-driven speed management system.

Athletes have the ability to do an in-depth sprint analysis that gives them a customized profile breaking down the strengths and weaknesses of their run.

After the assessment, the athlete receives a digital profile and will be prescribed an individualized program based on their results.

Each Speed Lab facility goes through an onboarding process and is given the tools and programs to train athletes using a proven system.

This program can be done with the facility, or the athlete can follow the same program online using the USR.

This allows the athlete to be part of a community, as well as track their performance over time.

We have gradually built a large community of coaches and athletes that have gone through this system and it’s been amazing handing the tools and trades to other coaches that we trust to run the system out.

I’m sure a lot of you remember the tour we went on last summer where we traveled to most of the cities we had Speed Labs in and held an event to bring everyone together and put our people on the map.

It’s been a blessing connecting and growing with each one individually and I’m so excited to see where this year brings us.
